TMN016 – iPhone vs Android · GRAMMY® Winner Ricky Kej · Recording Academy’s Michele Caplinger · JFly’s Unity Concert

TMN016-Phablets_w_guests

This week we’re talking iPhone and Android, and our very special guests are GRAMMY® winner Ricky Kej, Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter Senior Executive Michele Caplinger, and our good friend JFly (who is hosting an important concert Thursday)…!

JFly’s Unity Concert, March 19

First of all, before we get to anything else…if you’re around the Greater Atlanta area this Thursday, you should check out JFly’s Unity Concert at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. This mansion formerly belonging to Coca-Cola’s Chandler family is a really cool venue. I was privileged enough to headline the closing installment of their Jazz On The Lawn series last summer…with none other than JFly on drums.

JFly returns to host a special birthday bash (indoors, I believe…it’s a really cool place)  to benefit his How Big Is Your Dream? foundation. Check out the show to hear more about it — and more importantly, go to www.HowBigIsYourDream.org to get tickets. It’s for a great cause.

Did we mention Peabo Bryson?

(Also, of course we’ll be asking JFly the question: iPhone or Android?)

iPhone 6 Plus vs. HTC One Max

We’re talking iOS vs. Android this week with our guests…but while you’re at it, I posted this blog post specifically comparing my iPhone 6 Plus with my HTC One Max.

Ricky Kej

Bradford in L.A. before the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, with (l) Wouter Kellerman and (r) Ricky Kej

Our friend Ricky Kej from Episode 5 is back…and he’s got the hardware! (Well, sort of. Tune in to the show to hear what we mean. At any rate, Ricky and Wouter Kellerman won the GRAMMY® this year for Best New Age Album, for their excellent collaboration, Winds of Samsara. (You can get it HERE.)

Ricky tells what it was like to be nominated and to win the most coveted musical award in the world…and of course, we’ll ask him about iPhone vs. Android.

(Incidentally, no, I can’t “get you a GRAMMY”…but I AM very proud of the awesome group of guests we’ve had on the show so far!)

Michele Caplinger

Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter Senior Executive Michele Caplinger

Last — and VERY much not least! — The Recording Academy’s Atlanta Chapter Senior Executive Michele Caplinger peels back the veil a bit on The Recording Academy (a.k.a., “the “GRAMMY people”)…and BTW, if you’re a musician, music business professional, or college student with the appropriate credits, you should seriously consider joining the Academy.

First, though, I’d recommend you check out Michele’s excellent interview!

    Nice!

Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Mr. Ricky Kej is a true talent and I congratulate him and Mr. Kellerman on their respective Grammy Awards for Winds of Samsara album. Also J Fly on given it back to the community. It doesn’t get any better than that! An amazing talent and a wonderful human being. Michele Caplinger representing our Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy. When they pulled the curtain away and revieled the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz movie they actually found Michele C. was behind most of the magic. She is the real deal and a true Atlanta gem.
